Wilson is 9-1 against South Florence since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wilson Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the South Florence Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wilson comes in on nine and South Florence on five.
Last Tuesday, Wilson strolled past North Myrtle Beach with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Wilson has scored all year.
Wilson found their leader in underclassman Josh Leonard, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Elijah Smith was another key contributor, scoring five points.
South Florence posted their biggest win since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Hartsville 63-37. South Florence pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit Hartsville had little chance of recovering from.
Jackson Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarie Brown, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Wilson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for South Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Wilson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.7 points per game. However, it's not like South Florence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Wilson beat South Florence 64-53 in their previous matchup on January 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
