This season hasn't been kind to the Richland Royals, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. Their rough 56-33 defeat to Timber Creek on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1414th, while Timber Creek is ranked 427th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timber Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke White, who scored 11 points. Dj Bell was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Richland has fallen quite a ways from their 27-7 record last season and are now at 0-7. As for Timber Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.
Richland will take on Heritage at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. Timber Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Byron Nelson at 12:00 p.m. on December 1st. Byron Nelson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Timber Creek likes a good challenge.
