The Westwood Christian Warriors were the 90-35 winners over the Brito Panthers when they previously met in December of 2018. On Tuesday? They had no such luck. Westwood Christian suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Brito. That's the fewest points Westwood Christian has scored all season.
Brito's success was spearheaded by the efforts of sophomore Brandon Garcia, who posted a double-double on 16 points and 13 assists, and sophomore Jesus Rivas, who had 20 points in addition to four blocks. Rivas has also now had at least three blocks in his past 12 games. Senior Keyshawn Jones was another key contributor, picking up 12 points along with four blocks.
The Warriors will be hunkering down at home again for their game against Pinecrest Prep on Friday. Westwood Christian is the favorite here -- although they were the favorites in this last matchup, too, so the odds might count for a little less. As for Brito, they will go up against Carol City today. Brito isn't favored, but maybe they can beat the odds again.
