Basketball Recap: Kutter Mynter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat West Hardin

Groveton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They secured a 43-37 W over the West Hardin Oilers on Thursday. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 78-33 victory the Oilers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Groveton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kutter Mynter, who went 9-for-15 en route to 18 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ruger McLain, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 10 points.

Coming up, Groveton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wells at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Hardin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-46 defeat against Elkhart on the 21st.
