The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Wiregrass 79-41 at home. With Abbeville Christian Academy ahead 39-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Javarse Turner was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. Turner is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jp Sowell, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Wiregrass had strong showings from Riley Treadaway, who scored 14 points, and Brayden Treadaway , who scored 13 points. Zach Crisler was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Abbeville Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Wiregrass, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abbeville Christian Academy will face off against Chambers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chambers Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. As for Wiregrass, they will head out on the road to face off against East Central HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Central HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
