River Valley is 8-2 against Parker since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dust Devils will host the Broncs at 5:00 p.m. River Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
River Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Odyssey Institute by a score of 13-8. The Dust Devils have beaten the Minotaur the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Minotaur has come to flipping the script.
Mickey Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hunter Koehler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Zain Bruton was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
River Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Odyssey Institute only posted a batting average of .357.
Meanwhile, Parker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Kingman. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Broncs have suffered since February 22, 2024.
Parker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rowan Holt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-3-2. As for Parker, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Parker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: River Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. It's a different story for Parker, though, as they've only averaged .281. Will they be able to contain River Valley's hitters?
River Valley took their win against Parker in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Dust Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
