Magnolia is 0-10 against Western since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Magnolia Sentinels will be playing at home against the Western Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Magnolia suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Savanna, falling 85-54.
Meanwhile, Western unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to Savanna. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (58), Western still had to take the loss.
Magnolia bumped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Western, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
Magnolia couldn't quite finish off Western in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 48-46. Thankfully for Magnolia, Alessandro Burns (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
