Wilkes Central and Hibriten are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Wilkes Central Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hibriten Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilkes Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Hibriten is ranked 64th).
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Wilkes Central had to settle for a 47-45 defeat against Starmount.
Defeat or not, Wilkes Central got some senior leadership from Chloe Lyon who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and Anna Rollins who scored 11 points. The contest was Rollins' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Munsey, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Hibriten waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 72-8 victory over West Caldwell on the road. 72 seems to be a good number for Hibriten as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Wilkes Central now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Hibriten, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
