The Foothill Mustangs came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Pierce on the road to the tune of 65-28. Considering Foothill has won six matchups by more than 36 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Among those leading the charge was David Robinson, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devinere Young, who scored nine points.
Pierce's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Drew Burnum, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Devin Garcia who scored six points. Burnum scored a full 57.1% of Pierce's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Foothill is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Pierce, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
