The Jefferson Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Jefferson and Riverview wasn't particularly close, with Jefferson falling 59-43. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while Riverview is ranked 60th).
Riverview found their leader in underclassman Keira Logan, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Logan has scored all season. Brooklyn Poe was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Jefferson's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Riverview, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will square off against St. Mary Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverview will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Flat Rock at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th.
