The Catoosa Indians will head out on the road to take on the Jay Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Catoosa has now lost 19 straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-27, which was the final score in Catoosa's tilt against Wagoner on Tuesday. Catoosa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-11.
Despite the defeat, Catoosa saw an underclassman step up: Kloie Bristol scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bristol has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Jay took a serious blow against Verdigris last Friday, falling 58-19. While losing is never fun, Jay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Verdigris is ranked 69th).
Catoosa dropped their record down to 2-20 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Jay, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Catoosa skirted past Jay 35-33 in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catoosa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
