On Friday Concrete will take on Friday Harbor at 6:30 PM. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Concrete now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
If Concrete were riding high off their 42-7 takedown of LaConner two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Last Friday, Concrete lost to Port Townsend by a decisive 20-36 margin. A silver lining for Concrete was the play of junior Peyton Sanchez, who accumulated 211 passing yards and picked up 60 yards on the ground. In fact, with 11 tackles Sanchez was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing six points in their last matchup, Friday Harbor made sure to put some points up on the board against LaConner. Friday Harbor were fully in charge, breezing past LaConner 48-0. The rankings were on Friday Harbor's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Friday Harbor's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Concrete's loss dropped them down to 2-6. Friday Harbor's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Concrete defensive front that amassed five sacks against Port Townsend, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
