Hammond Baptist put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the State Line Christian Patriots 68-51. The Swordsmen pushed the score to 57-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

State Line Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Roque, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Baumker, who scored eight points.

Hammond Baptist's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for State Line Christian, they moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hammond Baptist will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against HomeSchool Resource Center at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, State Line Christian and Faith Baptist will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. State Line Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.
