Section 5 Finger Lakes - West recap October 22, 2013
Clyde-Savannah scaled the state rankings by moving to 264 from 311 this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Finger Lakes - West. The Golden Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of beating University Prep 8-6.
Red Jacket's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lee Perry threw for 89 yards and Tyler Gardner had 45 yards receiving. On the ground Kory Fogarty contributed 237 yards. Jake Jerome helped Red Jacket's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Fogarty provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Indians defeated Whitman. Fogarty's key target this week was Gardner, who caught 3 passes for 45 yards.
Fogarty was a beast in the backfield as Red Jacket defeated the Wildcats.
Gardner was the best wideout in the league this week as Marc Vitticore's team topped Whitman. Jerome helped Red Jacket's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Red Jacket's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Perry has thrown for 514 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Sean Sheets has 6 catches for 189 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Matthew Silco's team takes on Lyons. The Wildcats are in fourth place, while the Lions are in sixth place.
Clyde-Savannah made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,034 from 8,961. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 8-6 victory over University Prep last week.
