On Friday, the Timpview Thunderbirds faced the Syracuse Titans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Timpview walked away with a 53-40 victory over Syracuse. Winning may never get old, but Timpview sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Timpview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Openshaw out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Livia Eyre was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Timpview's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Syracuse, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
Timpview will head out on the road to face off against Lehi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Syracuse, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
