Dupree is 8-2 against the Ranchers since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dupree Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Harding County Ranchers at 5:30 p.m. Dupree will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Ranchers are ranked 15th).
After a string of three wins, Dupree's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to McLaughlin 55-49.
Meanwhile, Harding County can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They breezed by Lemmon on the road to the tune of 56-22. Harding County's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Harding County relied on the efforts of Claire Verhulst, who scored 11 points, and Macey Wendt, who scored 11 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wendt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kelsi Costello, who scored nine points.
Dupree's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Harding County, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
Dupree didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Ranchers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Harding County's Reese Hunsucker, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
