Coronado is 4-0 against the Aggies since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Coronado Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Arbor View Aggies at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, Coronado faced the Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coronado came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 60-49. The win was just what Coronado needed coming off of a 75-51 defeat in their prior match.
Coronado's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tee Bartlett led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Bartlett is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josiah Cunningham, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Arbor View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against Mojave as Arbor View made off with a 81-60 win.
Coronado has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.
Coronado was able to grind out a solid victory over the Aggies when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 70-61. Does Coronado have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aggies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
