Tishomingo County is 1-9 against Corinth since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tishomingo County Braves will be home for the holidays to greet the Corinth Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Tishomingo County had to settle for a 46-44 defeat against Hardin County.
Meanwhile, Corinth was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 45-44 to West Point.
Despite the defeat, Corinth saw an underclassman step up: Xae Mayes scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Mayes' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braedyn Burress, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Corinth were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tishomingo County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Corinth, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Tishomingo County couldn't quite finish off Corinth in their previous matchup back in January and fell 49-46. Can Tishomingo County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
