Baseball Recap: East Hamilton's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, East Hamilton's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 7-2 to the McMinn County Cherokees. The Hurricanes were not able to make up for their loss to the Cherokees from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

East Hamilton got a good showing from Liam Hughes, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Hughes has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, East Hamilton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Fernandez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

East Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for McMinn County, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Hamilton will challenge Bradley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Hurricanes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for McMinn County, they will square off against Walker Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Mustangs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
