Softball Game Preview: Pleasant Hill Billies vs. Glide Wildcats

Pleasant Hill and Glide are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Billies will square off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Pleasant Hill got the win against La Pine by a conclusive 16-5.

Meanwhile, Glide had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Siuslaw 14-5 on Tuesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Glide got a massive performance out of Samantha Moyers, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Moyers has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracelynn Schartz, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Glide was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Pleasant Hill's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Glide, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Pleasant Hill skirted past Glide 6-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Billies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
