Terrell Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Clarksdale is 2-1 when Johnson posts three or more RBI, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Williams, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Bane, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Clarksdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.
The victory made it two in a row for Clarksdale and bumps their season record up to 4-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Bayou Academy and 1-3 Byhalia. As for Bayou Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Coming up, Clarksdale will take on Byhalia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.25 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bayou Academy, they will square off against Winston Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
