Concord Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Keavon Bailey - Homeschool, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Carlin Hollis - Homeschool was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 12th straight loss. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salisbury Christian. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Calvary Christian Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 60th in Delaware, while Salisbury Christian is ranked 301st in Maryland).
Calvary Christian Academy might have lost, but man, JR Gillespie (HS) was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Javin Jenkins, who scored six points along with two steals.
Concord Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Concord Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
