Domani Weems was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Weems is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Caleb Garrett was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Zion Bracy, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Lithia Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Cobb only posted an OBP of .500.
Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lithia Springs, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Douglas County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Lithia Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .567. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
