There's no place like home for Comanche, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Eastland Mavericks, posting a 42-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Mavericks are ranked 901st).

Comanche got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ladanian Smith out in front who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ct Buford, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Comanche's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Eastland, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Comanche has already played their next game, a 36-33 victory against Tolar on the 19th. As for Eastland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-6 defeat against Breckenridge on the 19th.
