Shawe Memorial has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Rising Sun Shiners at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Shawe Memorial is ranked 368th, while Rising Sun is ranked 380th).
Shawe Memorial pushed their score all the way to 62 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to South Ripley at home by a decisive 78-62 margin.
Rising Sun suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They suffered a rough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Hauser. Rising Sun has not had much luck with Hauser recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Rising Sun got a solid performance out of Brody Morris, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Morris has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Burris, who scored four points.
Shawe Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Rising Sun, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Shawe Memorial lost to Rising Sun on the road by a decisive 64-47 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Shawe Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
