After a string of four wins, the Lathrop Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beyer. If Lathrop was looking for revenge after losing 73-56 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reniel Crisostomo, who scored 19 points. Robert Ellis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Beyer, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
Lathrop will head out on the road to face off against the Bruins on Saturday. As for Beyer, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m.
