Key and Park School are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Obezags will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Bruins at 4:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Key comes in on three and Park School on four.
Key is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Sts. Peter & Paul with a sharp 18-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Obezags, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
John Fisher and Ben Kamins made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fisher tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Kamins struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Fisher went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple, while Kamins went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Fisher is becoming a predictor of Key's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Key let Angus Lunt-Woodward and Sean Flynn run wild. Lunt-Woodward went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Flynn went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Key is 5-1 when Flynn posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Wyatt Dowton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Key always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Park School earned a 4-1 win over Beth Tfiloh on Friday.
Jack Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Cyr, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Katz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Key's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Park School, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Key has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Park School struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Key came up short against Park School in their previous meeting back in March, falling 8-5. Will the Obezags have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
