2A/1A Three Rivers recap Nov. 7, 2012
St. Pauls and Northwood played the most hotly contested game in 2A/1A Three Rivers this week, with St. Pauls eventually emerging with a 22-17 victory. Shawn Williams ran for 133 yards and caught one passes for five yards in the win.
West Columbus's dynamic duo of Harvey Lesane and Ethan Morris proved tough for Union Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lesane threw for 19 yards and Morris had 19 yards receiving.
Xavier Downing made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs topped the Chargers. The 6-foot-0 defensive back pulled down one interception.
Red Springs's Blake Greene and Zachary Leach have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Greene has thrown for 2066 yards this season, while Leach, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 41 catches for 672 yards. St. Pauls' Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 1957.
Trey Sasser's team's Kane Banner needs only 64 yards against Reidsville next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 120 carries Banner has accumulated 936 yard this year.
The Red Devils led the league in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on Midway.
