Softball Recap: Rowlett's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Rowlett can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots as the Rowlett Eagles made off with an 18-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

McKenna Hallman looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Baylee Grant was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordynn Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Rowlett hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Rowlett's victory bumped their record up to 7-10-1. As for Lakeview Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rowlett will host North Garland at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeview Centennial, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Garland at 11:00 a.m.
