Baseball Recap: Graham Local Wins Going Away Against Shawnee

Graham Local never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Shawnee on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Adam Levy made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Carsen Rogers and Holden Dunham did most of the damage at the plate: Rogers went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Dunham went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Rogers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Traylor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Graham Local was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only posted a batting average of .130.

Graham Local's record now sits at 11-7. As for Shawnee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Graham Local will head out to challenge London at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellefontaine at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Chieftains have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.21 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
