Crosspoint Christian are taking a road trip to face off against the Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Crosspoint Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Crosspoint Christian made easy work of Central Missouri HomeSchool and carried off a 16-5 win.
Payton Lauth made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Crosspoint Christian got a massive performance out of Vincent Wieberg, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Wieberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Bradley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-2 to St. Louis Christian HomeSchool.
Like Crosspoint Christian, Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaleb Hardy. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Hardy a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base was his first of the season.
Hardy wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Weiss, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That hit marked the first that Weiss got this season.
Crosspoint Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crosspoint Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, though, as they've only averaged .181. Will they be able to contain Crosspoint Christian's hitters?
