In what's become a running theme this season, The Covenant Preparatory School Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 89-58 victory over Houston Adventist Academy at home. The win was familiar territory for The Covenant Preparatory School who now have nine in a row.
Jay Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joshua Kennedy, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Houston Adventist Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ottis Crudup III, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 51.7% of Houston Adventist Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Morrison, who scored 20 points along with six steals.
The Covenant Preparatory School has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Houston Adventist Academy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Covenant Preparatory School will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Founders Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully the Knights like a good challenge. As for Houston Adventist Academy, they and the Victors will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
