The Jefferson Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4.
Jefferson pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Lake County by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Jefferson has suffered since December 19, 2023.
Arrupe Jesuit fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over KIPP Denver Collegiate on Tuesday.
Arrupe Jesuit found their leader in underclassman Ari Cowans, who scored 31 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cowans has scored at least a third of Arrupe Jesuit's points. Another player making a difference was Oscar Padilla, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Jefferson's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Arrupe Jesuit, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
Jefferson strolled past Arrupe Jesuit in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 53-39. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Arrupe Jesuit have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
