Marksville barely beat Rosepine the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Katie Lachney was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
Lachney wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Brantley, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Marksville now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Rosepine, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-11 record.
