Baseball Recap: Fillmore Has No Trouble Against Canisteo

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Genesee Valley, Fillmore was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Canisteo Redskins as they made off with a 17-1 victory. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Damon Potter was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor McCumiskey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Fillmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fillmore's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Canisteo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Fillmore will host Canisteo-Greenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Canisteo, they will challenge Genesee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
