The Hunt Warriors will be playing at home against the South Johnston Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Johnston took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hunt, who comes in off a win.
Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 42% better than the opposition, a fact Hunt proved on Thursday. They strolled past Southern Wayne with points to spare, taking the game 68-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hunt.
Hunt found their leader in underclassman Austin Joyner, who scored 20 points. Drew Pittman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
South Johnston suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-48 loss at the hands of C.B. Aycock. South Johnston has struggled against C.B. Aycock recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Hunt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for South Johnston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Hunt was able to grind out a solid victory over South Johnston when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 56-47. Does Hunt have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Johnston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
