The Bobcats had just enough and edged out Woodland Christian 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three contests in a row.
Emma Valli made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Julieann Drulias and Adryana Young did most of the damage at the plate: Drulias got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Young went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Young has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Rojas, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in 11 consecutive games.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for River Islands, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-8.
