Churchill had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 50-44 victory over Einstein.
Meanwhile, Governor Thomas Johnson ended up a good deal behind Westminster on Tuesday and lost 47-30. Governor Thomas Johnson has struggled against Westminster recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Governor Thomas Johnson saw an underclassman step up: Riley Kelly scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakotah Bright Brubaker, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Churchill's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Governor Thomas Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
