Fredonia is 0-4 against Anderson County since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fredonia Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Anderson County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Fredonia sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over West Elk. The win was just what Fredonia needed coming off of a 49-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Anderson County put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 54-14 win over Osawatomie. With Anderson County ahead 38-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Caitlyn Foltz was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kylie Disbrow, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
The win got Fredonia back to even at 3-3. As for Anderson County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Fredonia ended up a good deal behind Anderson County in their previous matchup back in January, losing 39-21. Can Fredonia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
