The Wright City Lumberjax entered their tilt with the Smithville Braves with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Wright City walked away with a 59-47 win over Smithville on Saturday. Given Wright City's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Smithville is ranked 151st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wright City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Carter out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Carter hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Gibson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Wright City's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Smithville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wright City will take on Antlers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smithville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wister at 6:30 p.m.
