McKeel Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lake Placid as they made off with a 12-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Aedan Tompkins's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jorge Cordova, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, IMG Academy Gold had just enough and edged out Inspiration Academy 6-4 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.
IMG Academy Gold also got a great performance from Rondy Bryant as he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Kevin Brinkworth was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. David Bullard was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
McKeel Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for IMG Academy Gold, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
