The Hart Hawks will challenge the Burroughs Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Hart lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Ranch, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gabriella Kobliska made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Naima Melendez was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nylah Melendez, who went 5-for-6 with two runs and one RBI.
Hart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Burroughs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Muir.
Karlee Earl made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Rangsiyawong, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Burroughs' loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Hart, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Hart hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Burroughs struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Hart suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Burroughs in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
