The Beaverhead County Beavers will challenge the Big Sky Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Beaverhead County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Polson, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Beaverhead County was ranked first). The Beavers blew past the Pirates 10-2 on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for the Beavers, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

Beaverhead County got a great performance from Logan Fox as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Fox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tristan Alvarez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Trenton Moreni was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Beaverhead County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polson only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Sky). Everything went their way against Butte on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-9 win.
The team relied heavily on Remington Howard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3.3 RBI per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Paugh, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Beaverhead County's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Big Sky, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Big Sky's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Beaverhead County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Big Sky, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Beaverhead County keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
