5A North Metro recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A North Metro this week, Fairview beat Mountain Vista 42-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Legacy and Denver East played the most contested game in the league this week, with Legacy eventually emerging with a 37-36 victory. Taten Petersian ran for 196 yards in the win.
Chris Marquez was a force in the backfield as Pomona defeated Fountain-Fort Carson.
Anders Hill threw for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Sam Martin was the best wideout in the league this week as Fairview beat the Golden Eagles. Martin tallied 6 receptions for 181 yards. Jason Harvey helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 65 yards.
Tom McCartney's team's Hill and Martin led 5A North Metro in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Hill has thrown for 2,865 yards this season, while Martin has 77 catches for 1,402 yards. The Panthers' Marquez leads the league in rushing yards with 1,930.
Claude Neloms has rushed for 964 yards on 125 carries so far this year.
The Knights took down Mountain Vista 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hill ran for 18 yards during the win.
