There's no place like home for the South-Doyle Cherokees, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They strolled past Campbell County with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 56-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South-Doyle also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Browning, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cox, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
South-Doyle's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Campbell County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South-Doyle won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Knoxville Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Knoxville Central is ranked 87th, while South-Doyle is ranked 97th). As for Campbell County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
