Pittston is 2-8 against Wyoming Area since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pittston sitting on seven straight victories and Wyoming Area on three.
Pittston proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Wallenpaupack Area 14-13. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Patriots have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

| 10/03/25 vs Wilkes-Barre | 160 |
Brody Spindler produced another solid performance rushing for 140 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pittston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wyoming Area). They blew past Greater Nanticoke Area 60-7 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Wyoming Area's win came from a few key players Pittston will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nicolas Kondrosky, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 67 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jack Gravine was another key player, throwing for 89 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
Wyoming Area didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hudson Sharpe and Trustin Johnson.
Pittston's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Wyoming Area, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Pittston has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 231.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wyoming Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 260.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Pittston was taken down by Wyoming Area 28-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Patriots, Lidge Kellum (who rushed for 278 yards and three scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
