Baseball Recap: Tupelo Christian Prep Beats Thrasher for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Tupelo Christian Prep came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Thrasher Rebels get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 13 games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Reeves Kenney looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Thomas Goralczyk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Bryce Godown, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Tupelo Christian Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tupelo Christian Prep pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Thrasher, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Coming up, Tupelo Christian Prep will take on Oak Hill Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Thrasher will be paying especially close attention to Tupelo Christian Prep's matchup: after Tupelo Christian Prep faces off against Oak Hill Academy, they'll take on Thrasher again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
