After flying high against the Cape Elizabeth Capers last Friday, the Yarmouth Clippers came back down to earth. Yarmouth was the victim of a tough 55-34 loss at the hands of Oceanside on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Yarmouth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Oceanside is ranked third).
Bailey Breen was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds for Oceanside. That makes it four consecutive games in which Breen has scored at least 25% of Oceanside's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubri Hoose, who scored eight points along with seven assists.
Yarmouth's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Oceanside, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Yarmouth will face off against Freeport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oceanside will be home for the holidays to greet Spruce Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
