Laguna Beach and Dana Hills are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Breakers will challenge the Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after eight games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
On Friday, Laguna Beach humbled Aliso Niguel with a 48-20 victory. The result was nothing new for the Breakers, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Laguna Beach's victory came down to the chemistry between Jack Hurst and his top target Brady Stringham. Hurst threw for 320 yards and five touchdowns while Stringham picked up 134 receiving yards and three scores. Those 134 receiving yards gave Stringham a new career-high. Charlie Christian got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Laguna Beach didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Aliso Niguel to a completion percentage of just 45.9%. The team can thank Will Kimball for the heroic effort on defense: he. Laguna Beach wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 56.8%.
Laguna Beach didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Christian, Colter Steris, and Kimball picked up one apiece. Christian got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Dana Hills won against Orange last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Dolphins really took it to Fountain Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-13 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dolphins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Barons are ranked 487th).
Laguna Beach better keep an eye on Carter Anderson. He was instrumental in Dana Hills' win, throwing for 343 yards and four TDs while completing 76% of his passes. Radley Geiss was another key player, rushing for 115 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
Laguna Beach's record is now 8-0. As for Dana Hills, their record now sits at an identical 8-0.
Laguna Beach came out on top in a nail-biter against Dana Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Breakers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
