Skyline has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hunter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Skyline is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They were dealt a 63-29 defeat at the hands of Bountiful. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Estella Myers, who posted 11 points. Mia Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points.
Meanwhile, Hunter suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by Syracuse 69-26. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Skyline will have to contain Grace Gallagher as she made an impact in Hunter's last game. She almost dropped a triple-double with ten points, 15 boards, and nine blocks. Gallagher is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Destini Perez, who had five points.
Hunter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Skyline has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hunter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 34.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Skyline beat Hunter 59-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gallagher, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 20 rebounds.
